Deep neural networks have become increasingly popular in the last few years, with their application ranging from autonomous vehicles to facial recognition. One of the most important research areas is the application of deep learning in medicine and diagnostics. One of the fundamental problems of medical imaging is nuclear segmentation, where the individual cells have to be separated in an image for further examination. The student's job is to review existing solutions and create a solution that is able to perform nuclear segmentation with sufficient accuracy and robustness.
