We have the privilege to announce that Prof. Kenjiro T. Miura (Shizuoka University, Japan) will provide a talk about aesthetic design on 27 June (Tuesday) at 10:30.
Location: room IB410 (building I.)
Title: Aesthetic Design with Log-aesthetic Curves and Surfaces
About the author: Kenjiro T. Miura is a full professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Information Science and Technology, Graduate School of Science and Technology (joint appointment) of Shizuoka University. He got his Bachelor and Master degrees in Precision Machinery Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1982 and 1984, respectively and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. His current research interests include geometric modeling, especially curve and surface design and its applications to CAD/CAM systems. His current research projects are aesthetic curve and surface design, digital grain generation and nano-micro geometric modeling based on microscopic images.
